Puppy Purchase Agreement & Health Guarantee
Breeder Information
This agreement is entered into by and between the Breeder and the Buyer identified below.
Puppy Information
Purchase Agreement
A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a puppy from a litter. The deposit amount will be applied toward the total purchase price. The remaining balance is due in full at the time of pickup or prior to delivery/flight nanny transport. Accepted payment methods include cash, Venmo, Zelle, and approved electronic transfer. Personal checks are not accepted.
If the Buyer fails to complete payment or pick up the puppy within the agreed timeframe without prior written communication, the deposit is forfeited and the puppy may be re-homed at the Breeder's discretion.
Health Guarantee
Doods & Dolls guarantees that the puppy has been examined by a licensed veterinarian prior to placement and has been found to be in good health at the time of sale. The puppy has received age-appropriate vaccinations and has been dewormed on schedule.
Two-Year Genetic Health Guarantee: The Breeder guarantees this puppy against life-altering hereditary or congenital defects for a period of two (2) years from the date of birth. In the event a licensed veterinarian diagnoses a life-altering genetic condition within this period, the Breeder will, at their discretion, offer one of the following:
- Replacement puppy of equal or lesser value from a future litter (Buyer retains the original puppy)
- Partial refund not to exceed the original purchase price
This guarantee does not cover conditions caused by environmental factors, accidents, neglect, improper nutrition, failure to vaccinate, or communicable diseases contracted after the puppy leaves the Breeder's care. Buyer must provide written veterinary documentation to initiate a claim. Claims must be submitted within 30 days of diagnosis.
48-Hour Health Guarantee: The Buyer agrees to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours of pickup or delivery. If the veterinarian finds the puppy to be in poor health at that time, the Buyer must notify the Breeder in writing within 24 hours of the exam. Failure to have the puppy examined within 48 hours voids all health guarantees.
Spay / Neuter Agreement
Puppies sold as pet-only placements are sold with a limited registration and must be spayed or neutered by the age of 18 months, or as recommended by the Buyer's veterinarian based on the puppy's breed, size, and health. Early spay/neuter (before 6 months) is discouraged and not required by this contract.
Puppies sold with full breeding rights are subject to a separate breeding rights agreement and additional purchase price. Breeding rights are granted solely at the Breeder's discretion and are not transferable.
Return Policy & Right of First Refusal
Doods & Dolls stands behind every puppy for their entire life. If at any time the Buyer is unable to keep the puppy — for any reason — the Buyer agrees to contact the Breeder first before surrendering the dog to a rescue, shelter, or rehoming to a third party.
The Breeder reserves the right of first refusal to take the dog back at no cost to the Buyer. The Breeder is under no obligation to refund any portion of the purchase price for a returned dog. This right of first refusal applies for the lifetime of the dog.
Under no circumstances may this puppy be surrendered to a shelter, rescue organization, or pet store without first offering the dog back to the Breeder. Violation of this clause voids all guarantees and may result in legal action to recover the dog.
Buyer Responsibilities
By signing this agreement, the Buyer commits to providing the puppy with a safe, loving, and enriching home for the duration of the dog's life. Specifically, the Buyer agrees to:
